My Pedagogical approach

To learn means to change. My role as a teacher is to catalyse that change. 

 

I draw attention to students' active role in planning, performing and evaluating their learning process. Naturally I take responsibility for the atmosphere, I am personally present and I play an active role by offering adequate and necessary support like teaching, guidance, counselling, feedback and challenging. I emphasize a creative, yet reflective and critical standpoint on the practice.

When it comes to theories, you might say my way of teaching rises from the theories of social constructivism, student-centered and integrative learning, but I myself like to use the word "devising" instead. In my classes knowledge and understanding are constructed by experimenting and communicating - devising - together, like in any theatre performance. The group develops everybody's understanding, including mine!
